Work in exchange for place to live

Looking for an apartment or efficiency or even a room to live in in exchange for work.
Don't want to go into too much detail here but I recently got out of an abusive relationship with my ex that isolated me and left me dependent on him.
I'm looking to get my life back together which starts with a stable job and a place to live.
