Octagon Talent Solutions is in search for a Sustainability Director in the Florida area! As the Sustainability Director, you will be responsible for driving our client company’s sustainability initiatives with a focus on environmental and economic sustainability.
You will work closely with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) departments to develop and implement strategies that reduce their carbon footprint and help monetize credits.

Responsibilities:
Sustainability Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with our company's values and goals.
Carbon Footprint Reduction: Lead efforts to identify and implement measures to reduce our carbon footprint, including energy efficiency improvements, waste reduction programs, and sustainable transportation solutions.
Credit Monetization: Identify and explore opportunities to monetize sustainability credits, such as carbon offsets and renewable energy certificates.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including ESG and EHS departments, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of sustainability initiatives.
Team Building: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sustainability team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Reporting and Compliance: Prepare regular reports on sustainability performance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies, to drive sustainability initiatives and promote best practices.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in sustainability roles, with a focus on environmental and economic sustainability within the manufacturing, engineering procurement, or construction industries.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of sustainability principles, carbon footprint reduction strategies, and credit monetization.
Team Leadership: Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, with excellent management and mentorship skills.
Collaboration: Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and engaging stakeholders at various levels.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex sustainability concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions.
Education: Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.
