Anka is a 2 year old Armenian Gampr.
DOB: February 5th, 2022
I purchased Anka and her sister as Livestock Guardian Dogs for our nonprofit organization when they were 8 months old.
Unfortunately, they are not appropriate for guarding stock and should be kept away from stock and small animals.
Anka is an independent girl who is a bit headstrong.
She weighs 95 lbs, is very active, and has a LOT of energy!
If you are looking for a dog to run or bike with, or take running next to a golf cart, she's your girl! I think Anka would be a great contender for something like flyball or agility!
Unlike her sister, she is strong willed, and not scared of much! She is hesitant with new people and may take a little time to completely warm up, but once she does, she wants to please her humans.
She does like to run!!! A well fenced yard is a MUST!
When they arrived, we did extensive training sessions with a dog trainer for leash manners and general training behaviors like sit, stay, come, etc.
While Anka still knows these commands, I have not had the time to continue daily training sessions, so some reinforcement of these commands may be necessary.
She walks very well on a leash, but she isn't as food motivated as her sister.
Instead, she looks for human validation, attention, and praise for her reward.
These girls are not livestock guardian dog quality but will be excellent pet dogs for the right person or family!
If you are interested in Anka, please reach out to schedule a time to meet her! Our nonprofit organization spent a good deal of money to purchase and train these dogs to protect our stock, so unfortunately, we have not had it in our budget to spay them.
While we are not asking for a rehoming fee, an adoption contract will be required for placement that will state she is to be spayed within 90 days of the rehome date, with vet records provided back to us at that time.
We hope that both these girls are given the chance to enjoy a pet life with the right family and look forward to speaking with you about adopting Anka!
